SCROOMS Tones and other variants

Keep variant names separate from the creature roster and from unconfirmed probabilities.

Start with the base creature

The Scroomdex uses a base name as the identity of each creature record. Tone and mutation observations belong alongside that identity, not as invented extra species. The supplied evidence establishes Melodic, Harmonic and Resonant as tone names. It does not establish a complete per-creature table of probabilities for those tones.

Separate confirmed names from shared lists

Other prefix names appear in guide material with potentially shared reporting. The confidence label marks that limitation instead of treating repeated wording as independent testing. The confirmed appearance-and-value statement is broader: mutations can change how a catch looks and its sale value. It supplies no universal multiplier for every named prefix or creature.

Read variant requirements in their quest context

The Bellaume Craftsman asks for a Harmonic Scroom from Tall Trees. The Magus’ Requiem describes Runic forms of Sigilith, Inkling and Occulot in a single-source objective account. These requirements are not interchangeable. A base creature entry can link to its quest while still leaving that creature’s individual variant probability unknown.

Keep weather claims at their stated confidence

The Pale Moon doubling report has one guide source. It does not establish an absolute chance because no independently established baseline is supplied here. The creature pages therefore link to this guide without turning that weather report into a universal instruction or attaching an invented probability to every base name.

What is still unknown

Complete tone odds, verified per-prefix value multipliers and the full distribution of variants remain unavailable. Dated observations would need to identify the base creature, variant, conditions and measured result to support those additions. A personal log can preserve those details for your own reference, but writing them there does not automatically make them editorial evidence.

Confirmed

Melodic, Harmonic and Resonant are documented tone names.

Other prefixes

Reported by several guides

Guides also list Mossy, Wooden, Metallic, Frozen, Blazing, Runic, Verdant and Charged. Shared wording limits confidence in independent confirmation.

Pale Moon

Single source

One guide reports twice the tone chance during a Pale Moon, along with rarer catches. This is not independently established.
